A little about me

Welcome to my coaching website! My career path started with studying Web Design. However, I have always been interested in people. This interest has led me to work in Human Resources where I discovered my passion to journey with people and to help them reach their full potential.

I first studied at the University of Calgary earning a diploma in Human Resources Business Management and Visual Design. I possess over 10 years of work experience in Human Resources with a focus on recruitment, resume writing, and interview techniques in various industries. I have experience working with diverse populations such as: people with various conditions, Indigenous peoples, different ethnic groups, and academic professionals. While working in HR, I realized that I didn't just want to help people find jobs, I wanted to help them find their passions, interests and values.

Coaching allows me to combine my skills and expertise in Human Resources with my desire to facilitate personal growth. I am a Certified Transformational Life and Emotional Intelligence Coach and a graduate of The Success Conversion Coaching™ Program (ACSTH approved program through The Life Coach Certification group).

I love helping clients align their passion and personal strengths with their actions. When I see clients experience moments of transformation from practicing self-reflection with an attitude open to growth, I feel very rewarded. I love seeing people grow and am humbled and grateful to be part of the journey. During the coaching process, I, too, grow as I learn a great deal from my clients.

Transformational Life Coaching

At some point in our lives, many of us find that we are not quite where we expected to be. You may feel that your life has not gone according to plan in terms of your career, life and relationships. You might feel “stuck”, not knowing how to move forward and achieve the things you’ve always planned or hoped for.

Much like a life coach, a transformational life coach specializes in helping individuals better themselves by making changes in their life. However, transformational coaching focuses on changing the way individuals see themselves, helping them alter their self-image to move beyond their perceived limitations.

As a transformational life coach I can help you bridge the gap between where you are today and where you want to be. With the help of a professional coach, your personalized program can: help you see that what you once thought impossible is truly possible, bring focus to your life’s purpose and design a plan to get there, empower you to overcome old habits and beliefs about yourself, help you become more self-aware, give you the tools you need to overcome obstacles and push forward.

Emotional Intelligence Coaching

Emotional Intelligence, commonly abbreviated as EI, is best defined as our capacity to perceive, express, understand and manage our own emotions and the emotions of others in an effective and appropriate manner, both in the workplace and in our personal lives. We all live in a social setting. The way we think and react depends a lot on how much control do we have on our emotions. This affects a lot in our relations. We attract people based on what kind of personality we are.

Tackling our own emotions and understanding others' can be difficult. Therefore, the need for an emotional intelligence coach arises. The emotional intelligence coach coaches' people to identify and manage their emotions. Along with this, such coaches also guide them on how to behave with others in a social setting. They emphasize the importance of EQ both personally and professionally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need A Life Coach?

Everyone goes through difficult challenges in life. While you may have been able to cope with the challenges you have encountered, it's always a good idea to seek extra support when you need it. A life coach can help you realize and overcome your habits and behavioral patterns so that you can better realize your full potential. People who get a life coach are the ones who are willing to do the work needed to live a more fulfilled life.

Life Coaching vs. Therapy

Life coaching is different than therapy in that its focus is not in overcoming your psychological issues. The purpose of life coaching is to help you identify your goals and achieve them. With life coaching, little emphasis is placed on the past. Instead, our focus is on creating the life that you want now and in the future.

How can a life coach help me?

A life coach can help you in a variety of areas. Personally, a life coach can help you improve your relationships with other people and improve your overall well-being. Professionally, a life coach can help you focus on your career and help you market yourself more effectively. Through life coaching, you can live a more balanced and fulfilling life. This approach, which focuses on human change, seeks to highlight the gaps between where the client is and where they want to go through a structured process.

What Happens During A Life Coaching Session?

Each life coaching session may be different depending on the goals and needs of the client. At first, we will discuss what you want to accomplish through working together and lay out a plan on how to achieve your goals. Occasionally, I will also give you assignments to help you direct your progress. We will work together to discover what obstacles are in your way and figure out how to overcome them. With each session, we will revisit your goals and see what steps are needed to achieve them. Change is at the heart of coaching.

Will Our Conversations Remain Confidential?

While the law does not grant the privilege of confidentiality to life coaches, what we discuss will not be shared with others. Life coaching is a confidential process and must remain so in order for it to be successful. It relies on the creation of an alliance that focuses on the actions that the client intends to put in place to achieve its vision, goals and desires.

Next Steps

Complimentary Consultation

This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little more and decide if we are a good fit to work together. I will ask you to complete a pre-coaching assessment form which I will email to you to get a better understanding of your goals and reasons for being interesting in coaching. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the process of coaching.

I will do my best to understand your needs and together we will decide if this is the right service for you along with if I am the right coach for you. We might decide that a different service or a different coach might be more suitable to your needs. In this case I will do my best to refer you to one of my fellow coaches or a different kind of service provider.

If we decide to work together, I will explain more about the process and upcoming steps. I will provide you with a welcome package, which I ask you to return to me before the first session. The package includes: a contract that explains the relationship between coach and coachee and outlines the administrative aspects of the coaching service. We will also cover administrative issues such as scheduling and fees.

Personal Coaching Process

In our first session we will continue off from our free consultation session and dive more into the goals that you want to reach. We will also discuss in terms of how I can tailor my coaching to your needs and you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the coaching process. You will get a chance to experience coaching style questions and my personal style of coaching. We will also have the opportunity to go over some of the questions from the assessment form and at the this point develop your coaching program more.

In a typical coaching session we will do what is called a "clearing," where I check in with you. We discuss how you tackled the commitments we set up during our last session. We will then address your focus of choice for the present session. At the end of each coaching session we will summarize any learning points and decide which commitments you would like to take on prior to our next session.
